"causality: AFFECTED AND/OR EFFECTED posits a causal chain of actions without specifying agents and materials. In addition to “effect” and “effected”, in the title, the participles of five other verbs are connected with the different pairs of nouns, which could cause or start the action and thus particularize the utterance. The verbs and nouns are all permuted. The point of these works lies in the juxtaposition of phonetic resemblance and semantic disparity so that their construction yields basically contrasting structures rather than parallels. The construction does not follow the visible regularity of the verbs; it is based on syntagmatic differentiation. Certain opposing data guide the use expressions and provoke reflection, beyond semantic-phonetic givens, on the change of exiting things (to affect) versus the generation of something new (to effect). The presentation in the form of a manual, containing five verbs combined with pairs of nouns, once again underscores the difference in causal relationships: causality (to affect) and causality as a fundamental change (to effect).
