"«A year from monday» is a major collection of Mr. Cage writings not to be found in his earlier book. But those who look here for «more of the same» will not find what they expect. This work reflects an ever widening horizon, a keen awrness of new directions in our cultural and political situation and our understanding of the universe, surprising and effective new patterns of verbal expression, and a high-hearted acceptance of what is and what's come. The subjects that Mr Cage discusses here may be summed up in one word: Everything. His ideas, however, require two words: Different and important. John Cage makes only one claim for himself: «I was gifted with as unny disposition». To read him is an enlightenment and a joy" (dal risvolto di copertina).
